A Nocturnal Journey Two retired Air Force Officers with their families were enjoying their holidays in Dalhousie. They were staying in the Air Force Station Dalhousie. Unfortunately the head of one family suddenly died from a massive cardiac arrest in the late evening. The small Air Force Station did not have a mortuary to preserve the body before the funeral arrangements could be made on the next day. The head of the other family was taking his friend’s body to the civil hospital to keep it overnight. Carrying the remains of a friend who had been alive just a few hours back in a deteriorating weather through the serpentine narrow hilly roads of Dalhousie, was not only a tough task but it was scary too. The chilling experience of that night, which might as well be termed as a wakeful nightmare, would be difficult to forget for the officer for a long time to come. What does he see in the hospital mortuary?
