THIS PODCAST IS ALREADY IN PROGRESS WITH, Ramin Fatehi, he is the Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk, Virginia. Ramin's office of 40 lawyers and 45 support staff are responsible for prosecuting felony and selected misdemeanor cases in Norfolk's courts. Ramin, a progressive prosecutor, took office in January 2022 on a platform of public safety, equity, and criminal-justice reform. Ramin has prosecuted for 16 years, both in his current office; in the United States Attorney's Office in Charlottesville, Virginia; and in the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office for the City of Chesapeake. Prior to being a prosecutor, Ramin worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Richmond, Virginia; an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Washington, D.C.; and a law clerk to Virginia Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth B. Lacy. Ramin earned his B.A. in history from Yale and his law degree from Columbia. Ramin lives in Norfolk his wife Mary Beth, a Master Lecturer at Old Dominion University and his sons Thomas (6) and James (5).
